Treatments

Ayurvedic Massage Therapy

Ayurvedic Massage therapy is just one aspect of the holistic Ayurvedic system, and specialises in identifying and treating current doshic imbalances of the individual, otherwise known as Vikruti.

A treatment will consist of a short consultation in which various areas of health and lifestyle are discussed, from sleep patterns and physical ailments, to energy levels and emotional state.

In recognising the aggravated dosha specific base and therapeutic oils are selected, warmed and applied to the skin. Pressure is placed on specific marma (vital) points throughout the body, in combination with chakra balancing techniques. These methods act to calm the mind and rebalance the aggravated dosha helping to cleanse, regenerate and strengthen the body.

Clients often feel a great sense of inner-peace and nurturing and here are some of the specific ailments successfully treated by Ayurvedic massage:

Vata Disorders – insomnia, anxiety and panic attacks, lower back pain, sciatica, fatigue

Pitta Disorders – stress/anger, hot flushes, skin disorders, hormonal imbalances

Kapha Disorders – weight gain, water retention, lethargy, lack of motivation, excessive sleep
